I 100%’d Cyberpunk 2077 and now I don’t know what to do with myself, feels like theres an essay percolating in there but I’m not sure what about yet. The blasphemous crucifixion subplot that effortlessly combines all the major themes of the game, while being apparently completely skippable? The airport that doesn’t make any sense?

The guy who did journey has a new one out about surfing on a sword across the desert and it looks sick as hell. He recently did a great interview with the remap radio guys about, among other things, the burden of being “the guy who did journey”[3] and making games that are more about mechanic than plot: Remap Interviews – Summer Game Fest Interviews (Part 1)

On the horizon:

Hollow knight’s not my jam but the second one’s coming out after coming out soon for like 5 years: Hollow Knight: Silksong comes to Switch and Switch 2 on Sept. 4th, 2025 and my friends are all unbearably hyped—so I am too.

Outer Worlds is 100% my jam and I am very excited the next ones coming out, well, soonish[4]. If you haven’t, go play the first one. It’s by the people who made the only fallout people liked[5].

Subnautica is a really fun game about swimming around and collecting rocks and fighting off sea monsters and dismantling the capitalist system that got you stuck on this rock in the first place[6] and the drama around why the second one isn’t out yet is, well. worth reading: - Subnautica 2 Drama Gets Even Messier As Krafton Confirms Internal Document Leak Is Real - More Drama in the Murky World of Subnautica 2 as Official Delay Confirmation Comes Hot on the Heels of Damaging Report Into Now Unlikely $250M Bonus
